Reviewer Guidelines

Confidentiality
You can solicit assistance about a technical point from other colleagues but please remember that all manuscripts are privileged communications and must be protected against exploitation. Reviewers must not contact the authors of the paper.

Conflict of interest
You should not review papers with which you have a conflict of interest. Please inform us if a conflict has arisen as soon as possible.

Constructive review
You should offer constructive criticism, suggesting specific changes that will help the authors improve their paper even if you feel the paper does not warrant publication. Mandatory changes should be distinguished from optional changes.

Originality
Ensure that the prospective article is original. Comment on the work's technical significance and accuracy as well as the work's potential relevance to data science.

Literature
Ensure that the literature review is sufficient to support the contention that the work is indeed a contribution to the literature. An adequate literature review allows the reader to place the work in a larger context, understanding the reason why the paper was written and why the conclusions are relevant.

Please
  • Check for readability by specialists from various disciplines.
  • Keep your review objective.
  • Pay attention to the technical organisation and content, rather than to spelling, grammar, or command of English.
  • Comment on the appropriateness of method, analyses, results and conclusions.
  • Reject well-written manuscripts with trivial or insignificant results and minor contributions to data science.
  • Feel free to suggest a more suitable publication for a rejected manuscript

Submitting Reviews

The review form is available in two formats, as a Word 6 file or as a RTF file.

All reviews should be sent to Prof. Shuichi Iwata at codata@dial.oleane.com.
