resistance

City’s public transportation network is established on
the chains which made up by city’s streets and the nodes which include bus
stations and crossings. The arrival time of buses are influenced by the departure
intervals, the time of buses to park at stations, the time of buses to wait for
the red light, the degree of roads’
crowdedness and so on. This paper quantifies the different factors’
levels in city’s public transportation as resistance, and used them as the weighing
of the chains and nodes in the network. The city’s public transportation’s resistance
is an important source of data in city’s public transportation network. In the
light of optimal path, it can be
used in the city’s public transportation network analysis, such as the analysis
of transfer, the analysis of arrival ability, the analysis of equal line in
time. It can be used to optimize the routes by guiding the bus companies to
adjust the number of buses and the departure intervals. It also can provide scientific
explanation to extend or to open new bus routes. In a conclusion, it is of
importance to calculate the public transportation’s resistance to builds or perfects
the network which complies with a standard of livable city.
