Although rapid advancement of life science technology has contributed to promoting welfare for mankind, many people are suffered from various kinds of diseases. Researches and technology development have been performed to overcome this situation through the world. As the amount of bioinformatics data from those researches and technology development have been increasing by geometric progression, bioinformatics appeared to analyze the huge amount of data and to gather useful information for the welfare of human being. Therefore, KISTI operates the website of CCBB (Center for Computational Biology & Bioinformatics) as the center organization which constructs the bioinformatics infrastructure based on IT. In order to support the research of life phenomenon with computer science technology, CCBB collects, analyzes, builds and offers 21 bioinformatics contents (DB and analyzing tool). Among these data, GenBank, PDB, PIR and Swiss-prot will soon be retrieved easily and quickly in Korea through the KRISTAL retrieval engine which was developed by KISTI. In addition, it is providing the main analyzing tools such as BLAST, FASTA, ClustalW and so on. The 4 efficient large-capacity bioinformatics contents including GenBank, REBASE, GeneCards and InterProScan will be introduced and the method how to update data will be described in this paper.
