Development of information society
makes demands for people’s readiness to live and work in it. The purpose of
this paper is to analyse competences that an information society citizen needs
to have. A set of competences which can be effectively obtained by the distance
school students is also analysed. It is shown that the proportion of
competences required for activities in information society is permanently
increasing relative to the general education competences. Just these
competences are basic for student learning activities in distance schools. Distance learning
activities have to rest upon the respective, well organized resources of data
and knowledge. Taking into consideration onrush of information society technologies, development of
appropriate specialized resources – catalogues is expedient. The catalogues
have to serve for gathering descriptions of existing information technologies, their facilities, competences
needed for their application both in distance learning and in realization of
information society functions.
In this paper a structure of a
catalogue for gathering and search information about the information society technologies
is described. The following data about technology are supposed to be recorded: title, summary, authors, technological
environment, software, didactic potential, compatibility with other
technologies, analogues, qualifying requirements to user for its application, scope of use in
society and in training.
